JU Players Get Selected to go to Swansea City Football Club
Jersey United is excited and proud to announce that two players that have worked with JU's Glan Letheren will get the opportunity to train at Swansea City in the English Premier League.
With Jersey United's partnership with Glan Letheren, UEFA Pro License coach and English Premier League scout, JU's own Teddy Pajewski and Maddie Somogyi have the opportunity to train and tryout for Swansea City Football Club and Swansea City Ladies respectfully. Both players impressed Glan at his annual trip to Jersey United in June 2014. Both players are looking forward to a great experience and opportunity to impress.
Teddy will head to Swansea City from July 27th to August 3rd, to showcase his skills in front of Premier League standard academy players. Maddie will head to South Wales on July 21st and return back to JU on July 26th after working with the Women's Premier League Academy players at Swansea City Ladies and showing them what JU female soccer is all about. Teddy's Head Coach Kevin Nash said, "since joining the club in the the early spring Teddy has worked very hard in practices and games, he's a strong athlete and will be able to go toe to toe with the boys over there athletically, I wish him the best of luck". Maddie's Head Coach, JU's technical Director Dominic Rice added, "Maddie has progressed dramatically both technically and tactically in the last few months and I am very excited for her that she will have the opportunity to test her skills against some of the best girls players in England".
JU's Director of Coaching, Dennis Jackson said, "this is a great opportunity for the players to really test their potential and skills against some of the best young players abroad". Club President Martin Brown added "it's great for the club and our players to have the opportunity to not only work with a UEFA Pro License coach like Glan, but to have him identify our talent and give them the opportunity to be able to train with a club like Swansea City, we are all proud of Teddy and Maddie".
Teddy and Maddie will join JU past players Jake Schreer, Dylan Castanheira and Vincenzo Marna who all have been across to the UK to train and tryout for British clubs will great success, all since 2011.
